Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

The diagnosis of cancer is always traumatic.  Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia  (or ALL) is the most common cancer in children. When a family receives the emotionally devastating news that their child has ALL, they are thrown into a complex and unfamiliar world that can be frightening. Knowing that ALL is very treatable with modern medicine, and understanding the disease and how it is treated, can be helpful at this difficult time.

This video is designed to help families understand the disease and its treatment, and to provide reassurance and hope by looking into the lives of children undergoing treatment, their families, and the health care team working to make their children healthy.

The Hospital for Sick Children, Dr. Oussama Abla and the AboutKidsHealth team are deeply grateful to the families and professionals who opened their lives to make this movie possible, and acknowledge the remarkable bravery and spirit of the children you will see in this video.
